Capt'n Groovy - Essential Pop, Disco and Funk

The groovy show features authentic 1970's effects like (depending on availability) fog machines, strobe lights, and a disco ball. The show is even more supercharged by the band's classic choreographed dance moves, dressed in their authentic matching Motown style outfits. And, although Capt'n Groovy's music is mainly targeted toward the age group that grew up in the 1970's, their show nevertheless, appeals to audiences of all ages. The instrumentation that makes up this super group consists of: trap set drums, hand percussion, keyboard synthesizer, electric guitars, bass guitar, violins, trumpets, trombone, saxophones and four lead vocalists (two male and two female). "The gender mix, age range and ethnic blend of this group is truly wonderful." - C.W. Goetz (founder/leader)

Many of the Pop, Easy listening and Disco hits from the 1970's included a variety of orchestral instruments ont eh original recordings (i.e. horns and violins). It is for this reason Capt'n Groovy is a sizable group. However, no other band even comes close to the incredible accuracy and authenticity that this group delivers. And after all, that's what it's all about, ENTERTAINMENT!
Capt'n Groovy is the completely authentic 1970's retro group that everyone has been talking about. Since 2006, Capt'n Groovy has been entertaining crowds of up to 5000 people per show throughout the midwest.

Capt'n Groovy is a sixteen-piece pop-orchestra along with two professional dancers who come from various parts of north central, eastern & northern Illinois.

Capt'n Groovy takes it's audience on an exciting, memorable trip through the entire decade of the 1970's performing the popular Soul, Funk and Disco dance hits that we were all listening to back then on "The Big 89" WLS.

Described as "Extremely visually entertaining, with outstanding vocals and superb musicianship, this group delivers a show that is amazingly authentic."

The Capt'n Groovy show guarantees a fun and exciting time for all, making it's audience feel like they're part of the show. You can rest assured that you will be getting an extremely fun, and exciting, professional show that will make your event a memorable one.

We saw your show in Peoria last summer. Wow, what a show! We thoroughly enjoyed it. We would travel at least 50 miles to see your show again. I have paid alot more money to see shows that weren't even half as good as yours. You folks truly are FANTASTIC!! I am anxiously looking forward to being at one of your shows again SOON!
